Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Walz is expected to land in Los Angeles on Sunday evening after a day of California campaign and fund-raising stops in San Diego and the Santa Barbara area.
Walz’ itinerary for Monday in L.A. had not been announced as of Sunday morning. He departs from the area Monday evening, according to a campaign statement. The Associated Press, however, reported that Walz will appear on Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC show on Monday.

4.1 earthquake near Ontario rattles Southern California

A 4.1-magnitude earthquake near Ontario shook parts of Southern California on Sunday morning, Oct. 6, the U.S Geological Survey reported.
The quake, at 3:51 a.m., was centered at 4.3 miles southeast of Ontario, 4.5 miles north, northwest of Eastvale, 4.9 miles north, northwest of Jurupa Valley and 5.6 miles south of Rancho Cucamonga , according to the USGS.
It occurred at a depth of about 3 miles.

The 40th annual Long Beach Marathon was scheduled to kick up its heels at 5:30 a.m. sharp this morning — 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled — 22,000 runners pouring into the city’s roadways.
